The 2007 Foundation Award was officially presented during the Sepp Blatter Tournament held on 31 August 2008 in Ulrichen in the canton of Valais.
The Foundation usually awards the prize at the end of the year in order to allow as many submissions as possible to be considered. Having studied the submissions for last year, the Foundation’s council decided to award the prize to Visp’s football school, which caters for children aged between five and eight.
«We have rewarded a very carefully selected project, in recognition of its contribution to football for young people in the Valais region,» explained Blatter. The school, which was established in 1990, is aimed at boys and girls from all social backgrounds who wish to learn to play football.
