A project team consisting of FC Steg, «Jugendarbeit Oberwallis» (youth work in the Upper Valais) and «Forum Migration» (an organisation for integration issues) organised the «zämu gwinnu – a football tournament against racism» on Steg's football pitch on Saturday, 9 June 2007.
The tournament encouraged youngsters to take a stance against racism and hostility towards foreigners. The games gave youngsters from different cultural backgrounds the opportunity to exchange experiences. The youngsters were also told that it was not the result that mattered, but rather their participation in a meaningful project against racism.
The tournament was part of the «all different – all equal» campaign of the Council of Europe. The Sepp Blatter Football and Humanity Foundation made a significant financial contribution to the project.
